After a while

I was wondering alone about this poem and I wanted to share. I hope you enjoy every single line.

After some time you learn the difference, the subtle difference between holding hands and chaining a soul.
And you learn that to love somebody doesn't mean mean to engage in co-dependency and that being in a relationship doesn't always mean emotional safety.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and gifts aren't promises.
And you start to accetp your failures with your head held hight and eyes straight ahead with the grace of a mature adult and not with a displeasure of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today, to consider tomorrow, and with the future's uncertainty, the understanding that these plans may fail.
After a while you learn that prolonged exposure to the sun's rays burn your flesh.
And you learn it doesn't matter how much you care, because there is always someone who won't.
And you learn that it doesn't matter how good a person is at heart she'll hurt your feelings someday and you need to be able to forgive her.
You learn that speak out may alliviate the burden of your negative emotions.
You discovery that you need many long years to build confidence and only mere seconds to destroi it and you learn you can make many impulsive mistakes in but a moment, and you'll feel sorry for the rest of your life
You learn that real friendship keeps growing even if distance separates you, and what matters isn't what you have in your life but who you have.
And good friends are the family we can choose.
You learn we don't have to change ours friends if we figure out they don't change. You must realize you and your friend can do anything or nothing and have memorable times spent together.
You discovery people who you care about are grabed from you very quickly. This's why you should leave people you love with lovely words, may be the last time you're seeing them.
You learn that the circumstance and the environment influence us but that we're responsable for ourselves and our decisions.
You begin to learn we don't have to compere ourselves with the others but with what is best inside of ourselves. You must realize that it takes time to be who you want to be and that our time on earth is too short.
You learn that it scarcely matters where you are, but it does matter where you're going. And if you don't know where you're going, anywhere will do.
You learn you have to control your actions or your actions will control you.
Being flexible doesn't mean you are being weak or without personality because no matter the situation, delicate and fragile or harsh and unforgiving, there will always be two sides to the story.
You learn that heroes are people that did what was necessary in dire straits, facing the consequences with stoicism.
You learn that to be patient requires nearly endless practice.
You uncover the truth that sometimes the person who you think would kick you when you are upon your hands and knees, is one among few who would help you stand once more.
You learn that maturity is more about experience and what you learned with from it than how many birthdays you have celebrated.
You learn over time that you have more in common with your mother and father than you could ever have imagined.
You learn you never say to a child that his dreams are just foolishness; few things can be so depressing.
You learn that when you feel anger you can experience it but it does not mean you should be cruel or uncontrolled.
You discovery that if someone does not love you the way you want them to, it does not mean that he does not love you completely for we all have people that love us but do not know how to show us their love or live with it.
You learn that is not always enough to be forgiven by someone else, sometimes we need to learn to forgive ourselves.
You learn that with the same severity you judge others, you yourself will be judged at any given moment by others.
You learn that it does not matter into how many pieces your heart was broken, the world does not stop to allow you the time to fix it.
You learn that time is not something you can turn back no matter how much you wish it was so.
So, plant your seeds and water your soil, instead of simply waiting expectantly for someone to bring you flowers.
You learn that you really can endure... that you're strong enough and that you can go even farther after you think you can't stand it anymore.
You discover that life possesses inherent value, and that you can appreciate it fully.
The present is deceitful and tricks us into losing our good things that you could earn if you were not afraid to try.

William Shakespeare
